More Star Trek

Postby beken » Sat Jul 28, 2018 12:33 am

I had watched many episodes and Star Trek Discovery and enjoyed them..for the most part. In some cases, I thought the plot twists and turns got too complicated to follow.

However, after reading some reviews of Comic Con, I was surprised there was another Star Trek series that I had completely missed. Probably because it was not in Canada. The Orville is a semi comedy version of Star Trek.

On a review, however, the trailer for the next season (3) of Discovery was funnier than the Season 2 trailer for The Orville.

I spotted article today on the CBC website that was about Patrick Stewart coming back to play Jean-Luc Picard again. I presume that the project is a movie. No idea on when that'll come to fruition but it's an intriguing proposition. Not sure if I'd go see it though. Last Star Trek movie I saw in the theatre was "The Undiscovered Country", the last of the original cast movies...I think.

So, is ST Disco canon? Supposedly the recent movies comply because of minutiae others know better than I do.

Well.... Last Star Trek movie I saw on a TV set was the first movie from the reboot series on DVD.
