Gord Downie. We all knew it was going to come someday...and that day was yesterday. Yet another day when the music died.

Re: In Memoriam
Just realized it's been a year since LPGA golfer, Dawn Coe Jones, died of cancer.
Dawn was an elementary school classmate. I still remember the names of most of that neighbourhood gang though I haven't seen any of them since moving to Vancouver in early 1970. I think Dawn was the only one of that group who made it to celebrity status.

John McCain. It takes a specific kind of achievement for people to forget the man crashed four planes, but bringing Sarah Palin -and by proxy her mental inferior, Donald Trump- to prominence in United States politics fits the bill.

Carlos Ezquerra, he of 2000 A.D. and JUDGE DREDD fame. Watch FUTURE SHOCK! THE STORY OF 2000 A.D. on Amazon Prime or the format of your choice to gain an appreciation for the legacy of this man and his comic-book-making cohorts.

Stephen Hillenburg, creator of SpongeBob SquarePants. I first came across news of his passing away on Yahoo! Japan and thus read about it in Japanese... https://news.yahoo.co.jp/pickup/6304850
