What are you watching on TV?

Postby Psycho 101 » Sun Oct 19, 2008 10:15 am

So with the new fall seasons in full swing what shows have got your attention? For me I''m of course watching my beloved CSI and CSI:Miami. I miss Warrick. I'm also actively watching Stargate Atlantic, Sanctuary, House, and Life. I really got into Life last season and was glad to see it got picked back up.

Well....

Monday - Heroes, Chuck, Terminator, Power Rangers and Ani-Mondays on Sci-fi, Middleman if it returns
Tuesday - Fringe, Eureka (when it comes back), Reaper (same reason)
Wednseday - I think Pushing Daisies comes on then, so that'd be there
Thursday - Smallville, Supernatural, The Office and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Friday - Stargate, Sanctuary, Monk and Psych when they come back, Dr. Who when it starts up again.

AOTS and X-Play daily. Digimon if it evercomes back and wants to finish. Hell Girl on IFC, Satruday morning cartoons, and all Adult Swim anime. New Family Guys on Sunday.

And any new anime tha tmay come on randomely

Over the summer I've been watching The Office, which is damn hilarious. And a little over a month ago, I started watching House M.D.. Hugh Laurie is a total bad-ass doctor, if I do say so myself. I've only gotten through the first two seasons, though. Finished all of The Office up to Season 4.

On weekdays and some nights, I also like to dabble in a little Law & Order. Jack McCoy is another bad-ass in the form of unsuspecting profession to do it in -- prosecution attorney. Well, maybe not that big a surprise, but the dialogue and screenplays are so well-written sometimes. And having a little eye candy like Elizabeth Rohm or Alana de La Garza isn't so bad either.

I'd like to watch Heroes, Chuck, and The Sopranos at some point as well.

Urk...what a list this is going to be:

Monday: CSI: Miami, My Own Worst Enemy
Tuesday: NCIS, The Mentalist, Hell Girl
Wednesday: CSI: New York, Sons of Anarchy, Criminal Minds
Thursday: CSI: Las Vegas, Eleventh Hour
Friday: Sanctuary
Saturday: Bleach, Moribito

(I'm fairly certain that I'm missing something...probably because the new season hasn't started for it yet)

Shows that I watch when new episodes show up:

Deadliest Catch
Animal Cops/Precinct
Project Runway

House... I've taken a really big dislike to the series (my mom's a Hugh Laurie fangirl... AUGH!)

but House is so cool! I've only seen the first 2 seasons though, and I'm midway the third. I haven't found the time to finish it as of now.

I'm usually watching showbiz news on TV ^_^ because that's pretty much all I can catch with my schedule. I'm watching ET, The Insider, E! News and The Daily 10. I'm also watching TMZ because it's really funny. I also watch Ellen from time to time.

I'm currently waiting for the latest seasons of America's Next Top Model and Project Runway - they haven't shown those here yet.

Almost forgot about One Tree Hill. I'm not sure if it's the latest season, but it's the one that took place after 5 years from the season before? Something like that. I haven't seen any of the former seasons, but I pretty much know what's going on.

House is really cool, but I've been known to shy from the stuff that people laud, so I can't criticize ya, Saki.

Or could it be you don't like it 'cause your mom's such a fangirl? ;) I grew to hate politics in general with a passion because my mom watched FoxNews 24/7, but I'm a little better now.

Well, just call it a case of disliking the main character so much I end up hating the entire show. And yeah, because my mom's acting like the kind of fans I hate the most.

I don't have a TV license so I don't watch broadcast TV.

However in the last few weeks I've watched from season three to the last disk of season six of the Simpsons.

I forgot to mention that I've been watching food network a lot lately. I'm not sure if our shows are new though. There's Iron Chef America, Throwdown with Bobby Flay, a couple of shows hosted by Giada De Laurentiis (Weekend Getaway, Behind the Bash) and Scoop.

I'm also watching reruns of Friends and Will and Grace. I never got to watch these shows when I was younger.

Been watching Moral Orel, and it just keeps getting more disturbing but insightful at the same time.

Really been into the ABC family African American drama Lincoln Heights, it's just very well done TV about police and what they go through with their families.

Then there's the usual House, Ugly Betty, and Grey's Anatomy. Also the constant reruns of America's Next Top Model and VH1 and other random VH1 reality shows.

The Soup on E! is never missed in this house too.

I didn't mention it in my shows I'm watching (as I don't really have a set schedule with the shows on it) but I figured it was obvious being a chef I watch it heh. Some of my favorite shows on Food Network would be Iron Chef (original or America), Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, Unwrapped, 30 minute meals with Rachel Ray, Malto Mario, Everyday Italian (I think Giada personally is too glamorous and gets too dolled up for her shows, plus the constant low cut tops showing cleavage are really not needed-but her recipes are nice), Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello, Essence of Emeril, and anything with Alton Brown. That guy is my culinary hero lol. I used to like East Meets West with Ming Tsai but they don't play that anymore. Another one I idolize and watch anything he does is Martin Yan. I grew up on Yan Can Cook heh.

I think they want to show that Giada is glamorous - didn't she come from a famous family or something? In any case I love her. Even though she looks really classy, her personality is very down to earth.

Alton Brown is the guy on Iron Chef America making the commentaries, right? I mean, the one who talks about the background of the food too.

yes, her father is famous and rich and well connected. I'm sure she's well qualified but I'm sorry, when they have her wearing nothing but low cut shirts to show off her tits and she has 5lbs of makeup on I loose interest. I'm there to watch a cooking show not culinary softcore porn. To me it's an obvious ploy to steal viewers from Rachel Ray who was the first lady of Food Network so to speak at the time Giada really premiered. I mean the beach scene in her "tasty travels" show that showed her in a small 2 piece bikini was nothing more then a sex appeal ploy. She just seems to "made up" to me as if the show was a glamor shoot or something. Obviously the big breasted cleavage shots worked as that Latina women (forget the show name or hers as her recipes that I saw didn't interest me either) has her own show, and sure enough flashes the jugs all the time. Though at at least she doesn't get all glamored up like Giada as if she's going to the governor's ball. Though no one is more conceded then Bobby Flay. I love south west cooking so his recipes always entice me but he just exudes arrogance. If ya want down to earth and relaxed watch Mario Batali.

And yes, that is Alton Brown. I love his main show Good Eats as it teaches you about the food item and doesn't just show you recipes. You come out understanding the food item and why you do or don't do something with it. He's like the Mr. Wizard of the food world. I also love his shows feasting on asphalt and the 3rd season feating on waves.
