Strange nonsense is a good way to describe it. Her head seems to be moving separate from her body at around 1:15. Very weird.

Emerje wrote:But you know, the new ED may be my favorite. It doesn't really have anything to do with Naruto, but it does remind you that the characters are kids and if this were the real world they'd be doing kids stuff like Hinata is here. Sorry, can't post a good video of it, for some reason these are all posted on YouTube flipped the wrong way.

Yeah, I got around to watching it today and I like it a lot too. Masunari definitely brings a different sensibility to the series considering what he's done before (Kamichu!, Kororo Library), so it's nice to get a another take on things.

The new OP is also good, as usual, but I have to see if it'll grow on me. As far as animators go, all I can tell is that Hiroyuki Yamashita did the bit where Pain blows away Team Guy. The way the rocks are drawn is a dead giveaway, but I don't know for sure if he did anything else. He might have done the fight scene right before the one I just mentioned too-- have to do a bit more research.

Methinks it's a paper cut-out doll version of her dancing behind a paper cut-out doll dress. The whole moving 2-D images overlaid on a 3-D set concept represented in that animation is so strange. The people who created that ED were messing with how people perceive depth in 2-D images.

Ah, I knew there was something going on with the 2D/3D integration, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Thanks.

Stretching time with dinosaurs. Now I know I've seen everything.

I also noticed Chiyuki Tanaka's name in the credits for the OP staff; I've been spending too much time on Sakuga Wiki.

[cute video]

Okay. Let's figure this out: A minute and a half long ED song for a show that has 7 minutes of actual content. I think each episode used up 9 to 10 minutes of air time.

I thought she sounded familiar. Apparently she's credited with singing the opening for Knights of Ramune but other sources list 2 other girls as the vocalists.

It might be that I'm perverted but to me it just looks like shes naked with her dress floating in front of her (kind of like those exhibitionist stage dancers who don't actually show anything). She looks 2D because it's 2D animation.

Hanamaru Kindergarten ED 7: Director/Animation: Osamu Kobayashi

Kobayashi may have his critics, but haters gonna hate. Too bad I can't find any translation for the lyrics, though.

Blast from the past...Kimagure Orange Road OVA ED 2. I've always been particularly fond of this tune. Not sure why but it was a good match with the episode I remember the most: the one where Madoka leaves a message written in lipstick on a mirror. Okay...so I don't remember much of it. I think I watched it about 18 years ago. It's sort of amazing looking at the seiyu whose names pop up in the credits: Tsuru Hiromi (Dominion, Hana no Asukagumi, and a whole pile of other shows), Tomizawa Michie (Bubblegum Crisis, Tetsuwan Birdy), Orikasa Ai (Tenchi Muyo!).

ヒャダインのカカカタ☆カタオモイ-C (Hyadain no KaKaKaTa☆Kataomoi-C) - OP tune for Nichijou. The "Ka・Ka・Ka・Ta" bit to me sounds like a bit of stuttering... ;)

Last year I actually took the time to listen to watch the OP to every season of Ranma 1/2. They really had some great songs in that series. I recently got a copy of the Ranma 1/2 Video Jukebox on VHS from Soul which collects a bunch of the music videos. Some of the English version songs are actually pretty good as well.

This is the first series I've watched that not only makes a major plug for the manga, but also advertises the CD containing the OP theme along with a cropped picture of the CD cover. Better than a blurb in the OP credits, but I wouldn't want any studios making a habit of it.

BTW, the start of the A Channel ED sounds a lot like the Sesame Street theme.

Paranoia Agent (妄想代理人) is on the list of nominees for anime relations in the AniAlley group on MAL. Krimson seemed to indicate that he isn't familiar with the title in his vote. It's been a long time since I've watched that series so here's the OP:

I think alyssav first brought this one up somewhere...perhaps on Facebook. Here's the credit-less version of the OP for Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko...

It's very cute, like a grade school choir, but I couldn't listen to it too often. To me it just sounds like a kid yelling out the lyrics.

On the other hand, OP 2 for Nichijou is even more random than the first. It's pure genius in it's absurdity.

^ Man, that thing is utterly spastic. I need to catch up on that series. Got stalled around episode 8 or so. Glad to see Nano is in school. In the manga she is a high school student from pretty well the first page.

Here's the Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko ED "Ruru"....I kind of like it. :)
