Re: What are you listening to?
Back in October (or thereabouts) I put a few dollars into a kickstarter project. Video Games Live: Level 3 came was sent out to the participants on February 18. Now available on iTunes. Pretty phenomenal recording project. Those who sent money to the project got a high resolution download, as well as a 320mbps mp3 download of the album.
We also got Video Games Live Volume 1 and VGL Bonus Level (2 other albums)
So I have 3 new albums to listen to.
I am also listening to Still Alive by Aperture Science Psychoacoustic Laboratories. It is the song played while the credits are rolling after you win the game, Portal.

Re: What are you listening to?
So apparently there is a movement afoot. A movement to bring back the synth sounds of the 80's but with modern beats and electronic sounds thrown in. A sort of retro throwback if you will. I am digging it. So far I've discovered Kavinsky, Miami Nights, Lazorhawk, Perturbator, and Power Glove. Long live 80's!!!!
Feel like I should be back in the 80's with a bright ass pink Hawaiian shirt and a manly man Tom Sellick Magnum PI mustache. Wait a tic....I have the Hawaiian shirts and the mustache. Oh yea time to rock it!

Re: What are you listening to?
Lately I've been listening to a LOT of epic trailer music. One, it's very relaxing and a nice change of pace. Two, I may be working on a Mass Effect Fan Fiction (may have been working on this for over a year now) and I want to throw in suggested tracks with certain chapters. Sort of making it almost a movie experience. So a lot of trailer music has been listened to to find good tracks. I didn't realize how popular the genre had become. There are a lot more groups out there than I thought.

^ If someone had told us back in 1980 that we'd be listening to Korean idol pop groups when we're in our mid 50's I think we would've laughed them off the block.

SOOO
I discovered Jolin Tsai finally and realized that she's the best ever. Listening to "Play" (Wô Pei) on repeat, yo.
I probably like "Gentlewoman" (Dì Èr Xìng) best. Gonna be into Mandopop now.
