9.5/10. Ah tool one of my most favorite bands, so how could I not give this high marks? It's not my favorite tool song so doesn't quite get a 10.

7/10 Not a bad song, but it doesn't have the same refinement in the voices that the more modern Vocaloid songs have. The synthetic sound is a little too distracting in this one.

I know I've talked about this one, but I don't think I've posted the video.

10/10 Great song. I never really got into it for some reason, but I respect it a lot.

8/10 It's a good song even if it's slower than I prefer when it comes to Japanese music (unlike her FMA:B ED). She's a nice change from all the pop idols out there with high pitched vocals.

This song has long since reminded me of the movie "Perfect Blue", or any number of creepy, stalker otaku. Oh, and the typewriter makes for an amazingly creative instrument.

Nice tune and lyrics but wasn't my cup of tea. The whole sound of "The Monkees performing at the beach" turned me off and I couldn't get into it.

Same composer of "Gemini" and "Just Be Friends."

6.5/10 - It's cute and I like the beat for the most part but it felt.....too synthesized to me. I don't mind synthesized stuff obviously as I like the vocaloids and Miku etc.....it's just....it felt too synthesized to me if that makes any sense. Felt like I heard more synthesizer than the voice. Still a nice beat though. Just wish there was more balance I guess.

Anyways I downloaded some Weird Al tonight and here is a personal favorite of mine of his work heh.

I love Weird Al, but I think he has done a lot better. This was still an amusing song, but maybe too crude? Weird Al is crude I know, but he's usually a lot more sophisticated.

This is a solo project by the lead from the Japanese band Monkey Majick. Yeah the guy in the images is the singer. I didn't realize he was such a dork lol. He looks like a cool guy to party with though!

8.0/10: It's bouncy, really bouncy  . This is the kind of pop music that I wouldn't mind listening to. Although I have to ask, was it really necessary to include rapping :? ? It seems out of place.

I've always liked that tune. It's small slice of je ne sais quoi with no Morrissey moaning away. While I think it is a fine piece (7/10) I wouldn't hazard to say it's The Smiths finest hour....

...On the flip side I wouldn't say this is the best song ever done by The Smiths, the album it came off of it is a very, very good one. Note that the video is NSFW.

7.5/10 Not that bad. I really like the tune, but the vocals are a little too British for my taste, not that I have anything against British music, it's just that Euro rock wasn't something I was exposed to growing up here in Maine (unless it was metal) so I never really developed a taste for it.

Now excuse me while I contradict myself:

Classic and fun. The vocals and music are sweet as honey. I'm not a huge fan of 80s rock, but I still enjoy it a lot.

7.0/10: The first thing I thought when I heard this was "This sounds like it could be an anime OP :D . I like the soulfulness of the song and singer. I think I'd think the original more because the whole remix of it sounds too distracting to me.

7/10 I like the production;it's really pretty. Overall, I thought this was nice. It has a light, sad feel through most of the song, but it also has its more optimistic moments. And her singing was pretty nice, I thought.

First I want to say that I really really like the music video. The pop up book animation style has always been a favorite of mine. As for the song I thought it was sweet and catchy with some decent vocals. The singer's tone really annoyed me during the chorus though. A little too... lame? The lyrics also ranged from very nice to very dull. Overall I enjoyed it despite all my bitching lol.

I really like this song. I believe the song is about commiting suicide after a loved one dies. It's a depressing yet peaceful message and the song still manages to be refreshing and uplifting despite the dark undertones. I'm not contemplting suicide or anything, but this song makes me think death provides us a release from pain and can be something very peaceful. Helps me not fear death so much.

7.0 Post rock Radiohead? I'm slowly growing to like Radiohead but some songs like this take me a while to get into.

Uneven, but beautiful shoegaze/rock song. There were a few parts that were rather "off" and it bothered me. Most of the song is very cleansing and melancholy. Really nice song.

Very touching song about suicide. The songwriter must have gone through something tragic to be able to write such a poignant song. I love the "When you've finally fallen down the world around you turns around. Can you really call yourself people?" line. Japan has serious issues with apathy towards victims of bullying and depression.

8/10 Nice song. Though I prefer songs that are a little faster or louder, this one doesn't get old even at its length. It has a strong sound even though the lyrics are so subdued.

Here's one from another of my favorite local bands. Rustic Overtones is a ska band that's been around for quite some time, back in '98 my graduating class hired them to play at our senior trip, though I didn't know who they were at the time. This is my favorite song of theirs: Simple Song.

Hmm interesting ska and bluesy mix there, but it felt a little awkward. The vocals are great! The singing sounded nostalgic, strong, and energetic. Not something I'd listen to but I do appreciate the work the band obviously put into making it.

8.5/10: Interesting little tune. I actually preferred the first part and how it was more of poem set to music. I liked the repetitive accompaniment. When it works like that, it can fade into the background or come up to the forefront depending on how you're listening to it.

I only wanted to put up the last section of this piece but I couldn't find it online. So, you get the whole thing :D
