7.5/10: In terms of a mellow hard rock song, it sounds pretty standard, but it's still a pretty good song.

8.0 These guys were ahead of their time. I'm something of a Ska fan and this is almost like the precursor to that movement. The song itself is pretty nice, they wedged in just enough instruments to get that "rock orchestra" feel, but not so many that it no longer feels like rock.
This one has a lot of history, I highly recommend reading the link while listening, the references will make a lot more sense that way.

Hehe silly and fun song. I like the Irish pub feel. Who knew bagpipes went so well with rock n roll?

Nice, slow song/remix. The ethereal vocals really help to create the mood of the track. I think if I listened to it more it would grow on me and my score would be a bit higher.

8.0/10: It reminds me a little bit of 80's Genesis (I almost expected to hear Phil Collins singing
) The song gets a big thumbs up for the percussion
This song came up when I was listening to the electronic + folk tag radio.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that I already like piece that it's based on.

7/10 I don't usually listen to music like this, but I liked this one. My favorite parts were the calmer verses and the part at the very end, where he quietly and slightly sadly goes "didn't I, my dear?" after the frenzied chorus. I would have given it a higher score, but I felt like the crazy percussion during the chorus, made it feel a little too disjointed from the verses for me, but I only listened to it once, so maybe it's just something that I have to get used to.

Yeah, I love 80s and 80s-style music too. The guys who made that song are giving it away for free, so if you go to the soundcloud page for it, you can download it.

10/10: I'm that a lost at how to describe this song. It's clearly an electronic song yet it doesn't sound any thing like an electronic song. It's really sounds more like a classic rock number with a different arrangement.

7.5/10 Typical SOD metaphores, this time in an anti-Bush/anti-Iraq war flavor. I've always liked this song, but songs like this have become kinda stale. I think Serj Tankian's solo song "Empty Walls" is more effective since it's more personal and serious.
Anyway, here's Miku Hatsune singing a surprising song about sex by wowaka. The video imagery reminds me of the clip scenes from Bakemonogatari.

6.5/10- I like Miku but this.....her voice sounded too high pitched and just out tune I think. Plus good lord was she singing fast. Maybe it's the beers I've had tonight but I was sitting here saying to my computer slow down!!!! And the video imagery....you're right Emerje it does but it also messes with your mind if you're a bit tipsy and trying to keep up with the song itself lol. Felt like it was some sort really fast subliminal messaging going across the screen. o_O
Here's "In The Middle Of The Night" from Within Temptation's newest album. Was gonna use a different one of theirs but when I saw this one was put to a Vampire Hunter D AMV I had to post it heh.

Re: Rate the music above you
7/10 Not bad, but I wish the vocals were a little more singing and little less yelling, especially in the chorus. I get that she was trying to put some power behind the lyrics, but I think she came on a little too strong. But not a bad song by any means.
As for the video itself, it was alright, but it recycles too many of the same clips. The lyrics had some narrative potential, but the video missed the chance to make use of it.
So you've been drinking, eh?

Re: Rate the music above you
3/10 I've watched people play those and it's cool to watch and sometimes sounds cool as an effect, but after a while it's pretty annoying on its own. I think it would be better if accompanied by some sort of drums or flutes. But by itself, unless some sort of melody or tune can be generated it's just noise.
Ok this AMV I watched at Expo and I love this song. The original video is not as impressive, I just think the sound and mood from the song goes so well with the Puella Maji anime so I'm posting the AMV. It has apparently become my favorite song of all time.
"Cosmic Love" sung by Florence + the Machine.

No video here just comments.
With this album they really tried to push it more and be more....powerful from what I read. The interesting thing is the concept behind the album. It's based on a grahpic novel (forget which) so the songs are all based on it. There's a few short videos out there too I think. Sort of like how other metal bands do cds based on plays, books, etc. I agree also the AMV recycled too many of the same clips. I can sort of see it since it was ONLY done based on Bloodlust but there was still lots more material he/she could've used. Still nice to see D getting some love though lol.
And yea, I had a few drinks. Had one or two while at dinner and some more at home heh. Guess it might have made the AMV more epic too lol.

. The singer has such a unique voice that I really like (reminds me a little of Sting). I love it when the drums kick in, because it adds a grandiose element to the piece.

I'm really glad you like that song. It's the drums that make me like it so much, plus there's a lot of what I call easter eggs in the song; interesting sound effects that make it so unique.darksideoftheanime wrote:10/10: That song is awesome. An intersting bar room blues/rock number. Beautiful at times, but the country music touches weren't very appealing.
