That was definitely unethical but they didn't do what others haven't done already.

Google, Yahoo, have done it and pulled back. Though they continue to collect information about their users.
Evite captures email addresses of all the people you invite and sells them to spam lists in the future.

So if you use your twitter or facebook account for anything, I would be careful, no matter what they say about their privacy policies.

And yet it didn't stop people from ranking that Con high and wishing for another one.

Caroline Eriksson of Norway made a 700 piece gingerbread Optimus Prime...kind of a shame to eat it. http://www.cbc.ca/newsblogs/yourcommunity/2013/12/gingerbread-optimus-prime-cookies-in-disguise.html

The daycare centre which sat in a corner of the schoolyard of the elementary school I attended got torched. Sad to see that it happened but glad that no one was hurt and no other property was damaged.

A more lighthearted story: Orphaned bear cub found living with chickens. I liked the line "Usually they break into chicken coops and eat the chickens, not eat with the chickens".

A Japanese company starts marketing lingerie inspired by Disney princesses.. Some, of course, are outraged and others are happy. At the end of this piece the author mentions that another Japanese company has intentions to make and sell Sailor Moon inspired lingerie.

Came across this story today... Unwanted kitten round-up. A community close to Vancouver has recently had three incidents of unwanted kittens being found in taped up boxes in dumpsters. The local animal protection society has taken matters into their own hands and offered to take in any unwanted kittens or pregnant cats with no questions asked.

A tragic story: Dead cat found hanging by collar.

The photos of the cat shown with the article are presumably from its owner's albums. The SPCA didn't release a photo of the deceased cat because the scene is so graphic and disturbing.

Stoned Dog Triggers SPCA Raid

This story is just plain strange from my perspective. Who in their right mind would let their pet get into their stash...never mind giving some to the animal(s).

Job applicant's religious background attacked by an employee of the company she applied to.

I may not agree with the policies of the applicant's alma mater but I certainly can't condone the nature of the messages sent to her. I believe the book will be thrown at the company and, in particular, its employee.

^WOW. Double WOW!

That is unbelievable that a CEO and his second-in-command would behave in such a manner in this day and age.

While I think that she should stay VERY far away from that company as an employer, I think she is in the right with the suit against them.

I also wonder how women employees fare under those two...if there are women employees in posts other than secretary and the like.

Things are getting a bit murkier.... Further investigation by the CBC suggests that the company may not actually exist. The more they dig the more it looks like a web of lies.

2 year-old boy accidentally shoots and kills his mom. I haven't quite digested this one: It's truly tragic...and yet I wonder if it was preventable. How the heck did the kid manage to cause the weapon to fire? I hope someone will be able to answer the question.

I just read that story on Yahoo's front page. Very tragic. Sounds like the gun's safety was not on, if it had one. Another question is - was it holstered?

Just a lot of questions and an overall sad, sad story.

Article doesn't really say if it was a semi-auto or a traditional pistol. If a regular pistol obviously there is no safety. Regardless a very tragic story.

If I recall, the CBC story said the gun was in the woman's purse/bag. I was led to believe it was not holstered.

A man has a turn signal lever from a 1963 T-Bird removed from his arm 51 years after a car accident He knew it was there for the last decade. Doctors said not to worry about it unless the arm started hurting.
