Re: In Memoriam
^ I was shocked when I first read about his death. I think my first words after seeing the headline were "Oh no...". I read the article, watched a few news clips off the CBC website, read his filmography and then watched a few clips of his performances. That took about an hour...

Japanese actor Takakura Ken. My Mom's cousin once remarked that I looked like a younger version of him. His wife didn't seem to agree on that assessment.
I can only recall watching one of his movies, 1999's The Railroad Man.

Viktor Tikhonov was a damn fine coach no doubt about it. Helped make Russia a beast for all those years in the Olympics.

Re: In Memoriam
I grew up watching him do commentary and segments. He made sports more than just sports for a lot of people. He made you feel part of it. His attitude and personality will be missed most of all.

Very. He had tremendous talent. Such a waste at such a young age. Hopefully reports will say later what the allergic reaction was to.

Re: In Memoriam
^ I found out his passing away in an odd way. I first spotted a headline citing an astronomer who said Nimoy made being nerdy okay. Then I saw an article that mentioned his death....

Re: In Memoriam
His death was truly sad. He was such an iconic person with a role that spanned generations. I loved his comic that lasted a brief time. Plus from all accounts he was just so nice and friendly. Never let fame get to him like others.
