Official NHL thread - 2017-2018 season

Postby d.yaro » Fri Sep 22, 2017 10:37 am

Training camps are over and preseason is in full swing with games in China this year between the Canucks and Kings. Time for a new NHL thread.

Canucks actually had a decent road trip. Three regulation time wins I think. Not bad. Might as well enjoy the wins while one can. Things will be much tougher once January rolls around.

Not sure what's wrong the Oilers this year. They just can't seem to buy a break. Habs have managed to string together a few wins though. Glad to see that. As for the Canucks...just waiting for the bubble to burst. I can't stand the thought of it. Hopefully this year's team will be able to hang in there once January rolls around.

Looks like the Canucks had bit of a blip last night, losing 4-1 to the Ducks last night. They looked really slow. Could this be the bubble bursting?

Maybe they don't like playing in California. Canucks got killed 5-0 in San Jose tonight.

I watched the game. It was actually a lot closer than the score indicated. Two of the Sharks' goals were empty net goals, and the 5th goal was on a penalty shot where everybody is scratching their heads why it was a penalty shot.

Still, the Canucks had trouble scoring against a much physically bigger team. They had some good chances though. Probably could have been 3-2 for the Canucks if they had buried their chances.

Canucks managed to snap a five game no-win streak. That's nice. As icing on the cake, Daniel Sedin registered his 1000th point. Good stuff!
