What are you watching?

Postby Psycho 101 » Sun Oct 12, 2008 10:23 am

So what movies or series are you currently watching? What's on your "to watch" list, or what have you just finished watching? Curious minds want to know. :D

As you know, I am currently watching Texhnolyze for my Book Club thread over on ANN. Well yeah, it's been hard keeping up with the thing, but at least I'm having fun watching the series and seeing what others have to say about it. Gotta finish episodes 14-16 tonight.

I also meant to start some of the fall season shows this weekend, but failed to, so I gotta start those sometime soon or I'll never get around to it. My top two are To Aru Majutsu no Index and Yozakura Quartet (no matter how many bad things I've heard), though I'm also interested in: Clannad After Story, ef – a tale of melodies., Kannagi, and Kuroshitsuji. (Kuroshitsuji has been newly added to the list because of the great things I've heard.) There's also Michiko to Hatchin, but that doesn't even start till this coming week.

Crap. That's right, I'm taking in all the crap that Sci-Fi is airing. MD Geist and MD Geist II specifically. Those 2 fall under the "so bad that it's good" category. I also recorded Psychic Wars, so I'm looking forward to that one too.

And Hell Girl, Moribito, Code Geass, and Slayers to name others.

Burst angel. It's so-so.

Denno coil is being shown at the university anime society. Last year they showed both Geass and Gurren lagann, so it seems a bit of a let down :D

Also a few days ago I finished R2.

Just started up watching Rahxephon and Ghost Hunt via DVDs that JG sent me. Ghost Hunt I've still only seen one episode of though, since I started it out by giving the first episodes of both these series a sample first thing I did those being the ones I'm most interested in and all. I really liked what I saw and I think the rest of the series could potentially be very enjoyable, but I'm just really falling in love with Rahxephon right now, right from the first episode, that it's kind of hard for me to watch anything else. This series is sooooo addicting! It just throws you into this strange world you don't know anything about with everything shrouded in mystery and it just gradually continues to reveal more and more things about it. Very interesting series, and a very interesting approach to it's world and storyline. Just 4 episodes in and already it has a respectable spot in my top 10! XD

If you're loving RahX now, just you wait until later. I wasn't really able to get into the series until it was probably about 3/4 through. From then on it is absolutely fantastic, and the ending is perfect.

Watched me some Black lagoon Second Barrage last night. Oh Revy, how I've missed you so. Let me count the ways lol. I got a few titles I've put into my immediate watch now pile. I'm trying to keep it between 6-8 titles and replace titles as I finish them. So I'm also trying to keep it a nice mix between series that are done and series that are being released as we speak. So right now my watch now pile consists of;

Shuffle
Ah My Goddess season 2
Emma
Kanon
Black Lagoon Second Barrage
Claymore
Code Geass
Gurren Laggan
Vexille (movie)

Downloaded and burned the Koi Kaze series in English, I watch it with my 11 year old cousins despite the subject matter, but since I actually consider the series art I guess it's ok.

Bought Peach Girl from Funimation, hoping it arrives soon.

Watched the first episode of both To Aru Majutsu no Index and Yozakura Quartet. The former was very good and I was pleased with the quality production. Glad to see it's getting the attention it deserves. (Right now I'd give it a "Very good.") Yozakura Quartet... I'm not sure what I think. The first episode was very different from the manga's intro chapter, and I feel like they've introduced too much at once. It should be much more energetic and not as dark as the coloring suggests. Also, I feel like I may have secretly been spoiled for something I haven't read in the manga yet. (Not sure about the rating, but the first episode earns a "Decent.")
