I watched Heaven's Memo Pad. Not exactly grade A anime, but it was enjoyable. Had some serious moments to it, a murder mystery is serious, right? It had plenty of lighthearted occasions as well though, and few scenes with fanservice.

Started watching Fate/kaleid liner. Which is a magical girl series featuring Illya from Fate/Stay Night. Only watched the first three episodes so far. I find it mildly enjoyable so far.

lol ive been slacking on anime this year, playing fighting games and playing backlogged games. But mainly watching a lot of Live TV.

However around christmas eve i got pretty sick, mixed with days off of work, so ive had a lot of time between then and now to just watch stuff.

I watched/caught up on:
One Punch Man
Death Parade
Rolling Girls
Gangsta
One Piece 50+ eps
Naruto Shitpoodamn 70+ eps
Assassination Classroom
Gourmet Girl Graffiti
Anime de Training EX
Hyouka
Tamako Market
Free!
Kyoukai no Kanata movies
Mardock Scramble Movies
Cyborg 009 film
All of anime-Mirai 2013 and 2014
Railgun season 1 specials
The K-on specials + the K-On!! OVA i realized i hadn't seen.
and the Haruhi suzumiya web specials from season 2.

As well as all Ova's, movies and specials for all series i hadn't seen.
(+ a handful of the newer hentai series)
Over 200 episodes/movies worth of crud in a week and a half.

Life is good...........?

I took a peek at "Hai Furi".... Yes, anything with a warship can capture my attention. No matter how bad it may be. I watched episode 5. I suspect I probably watched about a quarter of the show. That's a heck of lot less than what I watched of the first episode of "Arpeggio of Blue Steel". I probably watched about 90% of that episode.

One thing I sort of like are the mash-ups I found on Youtube which combined elements of "Hai Furi" with "Zipangu". I can't find the one I wanted post so here's one which overlays the "Zipangu" OP song over elements from the "Hai Furi" OP animation and clips from the series.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL8LYQSJj7E

Further to my previous post.... I've gone back and watched the first four episodes. Those were quite good. For the first time in ages I've found a series which I'll be actively following.

HaiFuri episode 7... a shopping mall in a Liberty ship. Okay. That's a new one. As for the episode 8 teaser...Hiei makes its appearance and it's not the ship one wants to bump into in the fog...

Well recently my gf and I have been watching shows we both want to see, or shows that one has seen but the other really wanted to. So we've watched Tokyo Ghoul season 1, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Paprika, and just finished up Akame ga Kill. We're still in a bit of an action mood so we're going to continue on that route. So we started Beyond the Boundary & Rage of Bahamut Genesis tonight. Really liked the opening to Rage of Bahamut. Got us sucked in right away and the OP is awesome.

After we finish them we'll probably watch season 2 of Tokyo Ghoul and we're debating on either Assassination Classroom, Seraph of the End, Terror in Resonance, or Yona o the Dawn. Decisions decisions. Bought a lot lately with sales so for once we're actually having trouble figuring out what to watch next. Plus there's currently streaming titles we're trying to catch up on. Just not enough time in the day.

At some point I do need to see Paprika. It is no longer in print here, but used copies seemingly abound.

^ I think I saw Paprika at a theatre back when in it was released. (At least I think I did. I know I saw Perfect Blue in a theatre.) It was quite a visual feast.

As for this summer, I'm going to keep tabs on three series:
Orange: A high school student receives a letter from a future version of herself. The letter talks about life events which are unfolding. Sounds like an interesting premise.
91 Days: I'll probably watch at least a few episodes. I'm interesting in the kind of atmosphere the show will project. If they do a good job with the writing then I might stick with it.
Battery: This one promises to look good. Whether or not I'll stick with it is another story. The premise of a big city kid living in the sticks whilst on a quest of sorts sounds promising. We'll see how it goes.

As it happens, I ended up buying and watching a copy of Paprika last week!

Planetarian is the title I most longingly await, assuming it is not region-locked. To my pleasant surprise, the ANN critics all had kind words for it in spite of it being a Key adaptation!

^ Glad to hear you finally got your hands on a copy of Paprika. :D

I'm digging up piles of shows I have missed over the last three years. I suspect many of those titles will end up on my great "I'll get to them sometime or another list". As for this summer's shows, I've already added two more titles to the list: the aforementioned Planetarian is one, the other is Handa-kun.

I decided to start watching Inari, Kon kon, Koi Iroha. The basic premise has some similarities to Kamichu! (main characters in both shows can see Shinto deities and familiars) but instead of the main character discovering she's a god (as in Kamichu!), in this case the main character is given a particular power from a god. The way too obvious choice of naming the main character after the Fushimi Inari Tai-sha Shrine is a bit dumbfounding but that's the only knock I've had against the show within the first two episodes.

My brain is turning into mush...I put Inari, Kon Kon, Koi Iroha on hold and turned to watching Teekyu, more or less in reverse. I started at season 7. I'm now into the latter third of season 6. It'll take me a while to get to season 1.

Here's the OP to season 7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCK-HFk1ke4

...still chugging along watching Teekyu. Everything else is more or less on hold. If a series' episodes are more than 5 minutes long then they don't stand a chance of being watched by me right now.

Teekyu is the anime for the recession generation, I say. It demands from its viewer the short attention span and rapid reading pace that has become commonplace these days.

^ never mind reading (subtitles). I've progressed to the point where I can pick out bits and pieces of the OP song lyrics. The versions I've watched have no English subtitles for the OP songs.
