I need to finish watching Haibane Renmei. I was watching it through Netfix until my brother canceled it. And I'm only one volume away

That sucks! It has such a great ending, too.

So far, the only title I'm interested in is Oh! Edo Rocket. Most of the license rescues I've watched via netflix or already own.

So is the last day of this thing going to be on New Years Day then or New Years Eve? Because if there's only one day left I highly doubt we'll be getting Soul Eater by now......

Texhnolyze is about as niche as you can get (the only thing saving it is that it's not an old skool anime and has some exposure to the English-language fandom, however remote), and NieA_7 is possibly the most criminally underrated anime series ever -- the amount of dismissals of it being shallow and stupid is ridiculous.

Yes, very much unfortunately so. Though I can imagine that with a Funimation re-distribution both their chances for better exposure might help them out a bit, but it's still highly unlikely they'll invest in them nonetheless.

Samurai Champloo is a series that I love dearly but It's not Eva. I think that they are going to surprise us with something tomorrow though and they're just a bunch of sadists that like to see half the fan base whining and crying and being annoying and the other half being annoyed at said whiny half.

Just look at ANN now the site is so overloaded that you can't even tell when your posts go through.

What the heck were they thinking? If you're going to make a huge deal out of the whole process, then at least introduce us to some worthwhile titles. Of the six license rescues, I only think one was truly worth it: Gankutsuou.

My reason? Nobody cares about the first three series. Everyone should have already seen Last Exile and Samurai Champloo. And although I know there seem to be a few fans of Gungrave, I think the same can be said about this one; those who want to see it should have already seen it.

I know all that sounds pretty terrible and all for fans of the shows (hey, everyone knows LE's my fave), but that's cause I'm here to whine about the lack of new licenses and random abundance of shows I'm uninterested in. (I will pay for Gankutsuou, however.)

As for the new licenses, I have no complaints. Nabari no Ou was a given when FUNi asked everyone to remove all the fansubs from streaming sites. I've been interested in seeing Oh! Edo Rocket. And Slayers is an oldie-goldie favorite, so, like Macross Frontier was for the Macross series, Revolution ouughta be a good pick for both younger and older fans.

If they decide to surprise us with something else soon, it better be good. :? (Where'd Eva 1.0 go? I just don't understand their clues!)

Well a Funimation representative said that the 31st wasn't over yet so I have a feeling we'll be getting Eva and Soul Eater or Maybe even just Eva at 11:59 central time. That's 12:59 for me though and I don't even think I'm going to be able to get online then :x

Yeah, they might end up licensing more than 10 shows in 10 days. That's how we roll in Texas. ;)

At least this is good publicity for these series. I'm sure that a lot of these title wouldn't have gotten as much discussion if they had been licensed/rescued separately.

I barely heard about Soul Eater before today. But in reading a bit more about it, it sounds interesting. I'll have to get it in my Netflix queue when it's released.

Oh god yes EVA!

I have no idea if it's any good but I want it

Edit: But good lord late 09 for EVA, and 2010 for slayers? I'm glad I did find those torrents for slayers

(relax I'll still get slayers...whenever it comes out. I have the first three seasons and most of the movies, and it'll annoy me not to have it all )

OK, so FUNi proved me wrong or whatever, but that's still more than "10" shows. What happened to only ten announcements? (Not that I don't like the last two. :P )

/looking for a reason to complain
