From the One Piece Mouse Pad topic. Just to sum up how the topic was going before this point, Kanjiiz said One Piece was a kids show and people watching it should just admit it (doesn't seem to have an issue with other ages watching it). egoist says it isn't strictly a kids show and has a much broader, universal appeal to multiple ages. They're both arguing on the same side, just ones being ultra specific and the other is being more vague in defining One Piece, but they're too busy to notice. Anyway, this little exchange made me laugh:

I believe I said the word "universal" didn't I? That the show is open for any age, you know, any age. Yes, any age, including 60 years old people.
It's a comic made for a JAPANESE audience, not universal.

Yep, so hooked up on the definitions he even took "universal" literally...

Well... I did somehow get my dad who is in his late 40s to read Naruto. His favorite characters are Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Kakashi. He likes Tsunade for the boobs, Jiraiya for the peeping, and Kakashi cause he's oh so damn cool while reading porn.

... My dad would so buy a boob mousepad.

This one is from the Spring Preview. I'm guessing this dude was just angry that Zac was using fansubs for the previews-- at least from what I can tell from his previous posts-- but I'm sure there's something else to it. In any case, it's baffling... and long. It got deleted, btw, but I copy and pasted it in Notepad beforehand. ;)
crilix wrote:In this post I intend to express my views about Mr. Zac Bertschy with gentleness and respect. I want to share this with you because you don't need to look far to see that Zac's actions don't amount to anything—and Zac knows it. Ophidian wastrels like him always lie. Even an occasional truth is intended only to cover up a bigger falsification and is therefore, itself, a deliberate untruth. He doesn't care about freedom as he can neither eat it nor put it in the bank. It's just a word to him. If we are powerless to bring Zac down a peg, it is because we have allowed Zac to take us all back to the Stone Age. If this post did nothing else but serve as a beacon of truth, it would be worthy of reading by all right-thinking people. However, this post's role is much greater than just to comment on his vituperations.

As it turns out, if my memory serves me correctly, people used to think I was exaggerating whenever I said that Zac's undertakings need to be reassessed with Zac's ulterior motives in mind. After seeing Zac overthrow western civilization through the destruction of its four pillars—family, nation, religion, and democracy—these same people now realize that I wasn't exaggerating at all. In fact, they even realize that Zac argues that the few of us who complain regularly about his beliefs are simply spoiling the party. To maintain this thesis, Zac naturally has had to shovel away a mountain of evidence, which he does by the desperate expedient of claiming that the kids on the playground are happy to surrender to the school bully. What I call patronizing, odious sciolists speak in order to conceal—or at least to veil—their thoughts. In that context, one could say that Zac's hastily mounted campaigns serve merely to illustrate that hatred, prejudice, and ignorance are still prevalent in our culture. Now that's a rather crude and simplistic statement, and in many cases it may not even be literally true. But there is a sense in which it is generally true, a sense in which it indisputably expresses how when a friend wants to drive inebriated, you try to stop him. Well, Zac is drunk with power, which is why we must restore our righteous rage and singular purpose to prevail over his power-drunk, delusional claque.

After I examine the social and cultural conditions that lead Zac to practice human sacrifice on a grand scale in some sort of voluble, Pecksniffian death cult, I know that everyone will come to the dismayed conclusion that I stated at the beginning of this discussion: When he says that everyone who scrambles aboard the Zac Bertschy bandwagon is guaranteed a smooth ride, that's just a load of spucatum tauri. He contends that he can absorb mana by devouring his nemeses' brains. What planet is he from? The planet Slatternly? I wish I had a lot more time to answer that question. Unfortunately, the following comment will have to suffice: Zac's claims can be subtle. They can be so subtle that many people never realize they're being influenced by them. That's why we must proactively notify humanity that Zac once tried to commit acts of immorality, dishonesty, and treason. If you consider this an exception to the rule then you sincerely don't understand how Zac operates. I hope, however, that you at least understand that one can consecrate one's life to the service of a noble idea or a glorious ideology. Zac, however, is more likely to defile the present and destroy the future.

I have a dream that my children will be able to live in a world filled with open spaces and beautiful wilderness—not in a dark, squalid world run by licentious, fatuitous crackpots. Zac says that those of us who oppose him would rather run than fight. That's his unvarying story, and it's a lie: an extremely scurrilous and gormless lie. Unfortunately, it's a lie that is accepted unquestioningly, uncritically, by Zac's protégés. If you were to ask him, he'd say that he doesn't remember breaking down our communities. Not only does Zac truly have a very selective memory, but his idolators claim to have no choice but to turn peaceful gatherings into embarrassing scandals. I wish there were some way to help these miserable, immature agitators. They are outcasts, lost in a world they didn't make and don't understand.

It has long been my opinion—and I have never shrunk from its expression—that Zac will stop at nothing to get his way. Nevertheless, I can state with absolute certainty that if we briefly prescind from the main point of this post we can focus on how far too many people tolerate Zac's hatchet jobs as long as they're presented in small, seemingly harmless doses. What these people fail to realize, however, is that justice and humanity are totally on our side and nothing but illegality and barbarity are on Zac's. And let me tell you, if you looked up "unforgiving" in the dictionary, you'd probably see Zac's picture. I discussed this topic in a previous post, so I will not go into great detail now, but in a recent tell-all, a former member of Zac's den of thieves writes that "Zac is a fearful man hiding behind a façade of cool". Those are some pretty harsh words even when one considers that Zac never stops boasting about his generous contributions to charitable causes. As far as I can tell, however, his claimed magnanimousness is completely chimerical, and, furthermore, we must show Zac that we are not powerless pedestrians on the asphalt of life. We must show him that we can burn away social illness, exploitation, and human suffering while remaining true to those beliefs, ideals, and aspirations we hold most dear. Maybe then Zac will realize that by brainwashing his adherents with opportunism, he makes them easy to lead, easy to program, and easy to enslave. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Ah, I once nearly fell for the stinging-yet-unspecific prose that generator outputs.

Zac's den of thieves writes that "Zac is a fearful man hiding behind a façade of cool"

Epic lol. SO the other reviewers at ANN are his den of thieves eh lol? That post sounded like the ramblings of someone on PCP or Meth. Just wow.

You guys do realise that that is a spoof post, constructed using the generator referenced in Zin5ki's post, and not an opinion to be taken seriously? Right?

If you know _V_ from ANN, then this should provide a chuckle. From here:

Well... DragonsRevenge must be trolling (he's a longtime member and obviously knows the rules), or he had enough of the Talkback forum and cracked. He made an OP in the Anime forum titled "Where can I illegally pirate anime?," which I won't bother linking to, since it's just going to be locked and deleted anyways.

DragonsRevenge wrote:I want to steal my anime off the interwebs with a blatant disregard for the companies that work to produce and distribute it. The illegal-er, the better.

But I still laughed.

It continues:

DragonsRevenge wrote:Are you implying that asking for means to illegally download copyrighted material, thus helping to throw an entire industry into ruin is against forum rules?

I wonder what set this off? It's like he's for an ironic statement as a launching point into something else, but it's so blatant there's no option other than to lock the thread.

I found this quote interesting from here:
Chagen46 wrote:Ugh, why must this god-awful show keep showing up everywhere?

I'm really starting to get sick of seeing these whore's faces.

The girls of K-ON are whores? I must have missed that episode

"Whore" implies someone -- or in this case, something -- at least having some kind of sexual interest, and, well, don't know how to break it to Chagen46, but...

The excuse that's a few posts down is rather funny. A typo? Oh, yeah, his hand just slipped up and he typed that. I wonder what word he was going to use instead. Also, they turn 18? So?

And there's a darkside sighting on ANN.

I've noticed this thread hasn't gotten used as much lately on either site. A sign of the times.

Well, we can always hope that dtm will say something that will really piss off abunai or Key on the Tournament thread and we can quote them.
